hello girls~ i am in the process of leasing a space from an upscale medical spa and for me to get started the owner and i decided that it would be fair for me to get my name out there and split a percentage with her. we both want to be fair, one of the owners said that the girl that started out with them awhile ago did a 60/40...then went on her own. they paid for her schooling and supplies. i would take care of my own supplies and insurance because i am moving into a new area. i had my own studio and was on my own so this is new to me. i would love to hear any suggestions, we will be meeting at the end of the week and i really need to know what others are paying for percentage to owners. also, whenever i get comfortable, i will be able to start paying rent, which would be $150.00 a week for the room. thanks so much, you all have been like "big sisters" to me when i have needed advise!! i will also piggyback to my first post, the owner will pay the advertising and thats it. everyone in there is independent contractor. originally, i was going to pay the lease right when they opened, but the owner decided that she would help out by going percentage at first just to get my feet wet. they are very determined to get me on board with them because they do not have permanent makeup around this area. they have quite a following of very affluent women that would be very interested in having this done. and my next question would be is would it be a percentage of "per client" or "per procedure". i hate to confuse anyone here, sorry if i am. thanks so much... Generally speaking, it is usually a percentage of your total gross income. Sherri
